.Live (/ˈlaɪv/, often typeset as LĪVE) is an American rock band from York, Pennsylvania, composed of Chad Taylor (lead guitar), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass), Chad Gracey (drums), and Chris Shinn (vocals). Live's original lead singer Ed Kowalczyk left the band in November 2009.

Live achieved worldwide success with their 1994 album, Throwing Copper, which has sold eight million copies in the US.[2] The band had a string of hit singles in the mid-1990s including "Lightning Crashes", which stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for 10 consecutive weeks and the Modern Rock Tracks (now Alternative Songs) chart for nine weeks from February 25 to April 22, 1995.[3] The band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.[4]

"I Alone" is the second single from Live's album, Throwing Copper. The single was released to radio stations in the United States, but was only released commercially overseas. It reached #6 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.[1] The song was ranked 62nd best song of the 1990s by VH1.[2]

Lead singer Ed Kowalczyk said of the songs lyrics, "People think 'I Alone' is a love song but it really wasn't. The lyrics were more abstract, encompassing a much larger message." [3] He explained the line, "The greatest of teachers won't hesitate to leave you there by yourself chained to fate," by saying that a profound lesson he derived from studying spiritual teachings was that religion and truth must be found for oneself and practiced, rather than just accepting the word of others.[4].

 Heaven's Basement is a British hard rock band formed in 2008 and signed with Red Bull Records.

In September 2012, the band released a single from their upcoming debut album Filthy Empire titled 'Fire, Fire'. The band promoted this with a month long European tour with Halestorm and the bands first ever appearance in America playing alongside The Darkness at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on 24 October 2012. They then went on to do a full U.K. & European tour with Seether in November 2012 and finished off 2012 with a show at the Camden Barfly , London on 18 December 2012.

Filthy Empire, the band's debut full length album, was released on 4 February 2013 to excellent reviews including KKKK from Kerrang and entered the BBC Rock Album Chart at No. 9 in the UK.[6] [7][8]

Edward Christopher "Ed" Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. Raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, he moved to London in 2008 to pursue a musical career. Simon Neil's wife had a couple of miscarriages and their personal troubles put a huge strain on their marriage, nearly tearing them apart. In this "twisted love song" he sings, "You left my heart like an abandoned car. Old and worn I'm no use at all." The singer explained to NME: "That's where the bitterness came from. But there's also a strength that came out of wanting to fix that."
