Coś o mnie

O mnie
During his 11 years in office, he changed Egypt's course, moving away from many of the political and economic principles of Nasserism, re-establishing a multi-party system, and launching a policy of economic openness. As president, he led Egypt in the October War of 1973 to reclaim Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, which had been occupied by Israel since the 1967 Six-Day War, making him a hero in Egypt and, for a time, in the wider Arab world. He later engaged in negotiations with Israel, culminating in the Camp David Accords and the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty. This led to him and Menachem Begin being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, making Sadat the first Muslim to win a Nobel Prize. Although the reaction to the treaty—which returned Sinai to Egypt—was generally positive among Egyptians (4), it was rejected by the Muslim Brotherhood and the country's left, who felt that Sadat had abandoned his efforts to secure a Palestinian state (14 With the exception of Sudan, the Arab world and the Palestine Liberation Organization strongly opposed Sadat's efforts to achieve a separate peace with Israel without prior consultations with Arab states. 141 His refusal to reconcile with them on the Palestinian issue led to Egypt's suspension from the Arab League from 1979 to 1989. [5][6][7] The peace treaty was also a major factor in his assassination on October 6, 1981. Gunmen led by Khaled al-Islambouli opened fire on Sadat with automatic rifles during a parade on October 6 in Cairo, killing him.

Sadat in military uniform Mohamed Anwar Mohamed Sadat was born on December 25, 1918 in the village of Mit Abu al-Kum, in the Menoufia Governorate, in what was then known as the Egyptian Sultanate, to a poor family. He had 14 brothers. One of his brothers, Atef Sadat, later became a pilot and was killed in action in 1973 during the October War. His father, Mohamed Sadat, was from Upper Egypt and worked in Sudan with a medical team accompanying the British-Egyptian army in administrative, nursing and translation work. His mother was Sudanese with an Egyptian mother named Sit al-Burain from the city of Dongola. His father married her while he was working with the British medical team, but he lived and grew up in the village of Mit Abu al-Kum. Sadat indicated that the village did not cloud his mind, but it was his grandmother and mother who fascinated him and controlled him, and they were the main reason for forming his personality. Sadat was proud to be in the company of his venerable grandmother, the grandmother whom men would stand to greet when she passed by, despite her illiteracy. However, she had extraordinary wisdom, so much so that families who had problems would go to her to take her advice, in addition to her skill in providing prescriptions for patients.

Sadat mentioned that his grandmother and mother used to tell him unusual stories before bed. They were not traditional stories about ancient war exploits and adventures, but rather about contemporary heroes and their struggle for national independence, such as the story of Mustafa Kamel being poisoned by the British who wanted to put an end to the struggle against their occupation of Egypt. Anwar the Younger did not know who Mustafa Kamel was, but he learned through repetition that the British were evil and poisoned people. However, there was a popular story that deeply affected him, which was the story of Zahran, who was called the hero of Denshawai, which is three miles from Mit Abu al-Kum.

Sadat with Mohamed Naguib in 1952 During World War II, Sadat collaborated with Nazi German spies in Egypt as a form of hostility to the British occupiers. Once the British authorities discovered this, he was arrested and imprisoned for the duration of the war. By the end of the conflict, he had already met with the secret society that decided to assassinate Amin Osman, the Minister of Finance in the Wafd government and the head of the Egyptian-British Friendship Society, because of his strong sympathies for the British. Osman was assassinated in January 1946. After the assassination of Amin Osman, Sadat returned once again and finally to prison.

His first marriage was traditional, as he proposed to Mrs. Iqbal Afifi, who was of Turkish origin and was related to Khedive Abbas. Her family also owned some land in the village of Mit Abu al-Kum and Qalyubia, which made Iqbal’s family oppose Anwar Sadat’s marriage to her. However, after Sadat completed his studies at the Military Academy, things changed and the marriage took place, which lasted for nine years, during which they had three daughters: Ruqayya, Rawya, and Camelia.
